اختناق (انگریزی: Asphyxia) بدن میں تیزابساز (oxygen) کی کمی یا کاربن ڈائی آکسا ئیڈ کی زیادتی سے پیدا ہو جانے والی کیفیت ہے جو تنفس میں خلل کی وجہ سے پیدا ہوتی ہے۔
