Between 65000 to 80000 Kodavas massacred by tippu at divatiparmbe ,987 kodava clanes with a population from 40 to 150 people in each clan were masscared by tippu sulthan ,after getting defeated by kodavas 34 times he called for a treaty cum dinner with kodavas and called all the clanes to meet at davitiparumbu which includes kodava worriar men,women and children,kodavas being noble to their word when kodavas reached devatiparambu were shot with cannons by french soldiers hiding behind the bush nearly 15kms away and tippu watched it from top of a hill and the captured ones where converted to islam and the proof is the kodava mappalia(Kodava Muslims) at kodage and river cauvery flow formore than 15days with blood of this might kodava clans.

The Indian Army was accused of arbitrarily firing on a crowd and killing 51 civilians in Bijbehara after protests erupted over the siege of the mosque in Hazratbal.[1][2][3].
