قوالی راگ ہے، راگنی ہے، غزل ہے، مضمون ہے، شاعری ہے، انداز ہے، روحانیت ہے۔ قوالی ایک مکمل درخت ہے۔ چوٹی سے لے کر جڑوں تک۔ اس میں سے کسی صاحب نے اس کے پتے لے لیے اور کلاسیکل گانے لگے، کسی نے پھول لے لئے اور غزل گانا شروع کی اور کوئی شاخ چن کر گیت گانے لگا۔ بحیثیت مجموعی قوالی میں سب کچھ موجود ہے۔ اور اسی لئے کہتے ہیں کہ قوالی برِصغیر کی موسیقی کی سب سے پہلی ایجاد ہے--Reyaz Alam (تبادلۂ خیال) 11:12, 24 جون 2013 (م ع و)
