This posthumous portrait (1878) was based on a Gilbert Stuart original portrait of Lady Washington that was simply of the head and bust. The furnishings and dress are anachronistic. Andrews was the director of the Corcoran School of Art. It was displayed at the Cincinnati Industrial Exposition, and now hangs in the northeast corner of the East Room in the White House. 38°53′52″N 77°02′11″W / 38.897722°N 77.03627°W / 38.897722; -77.03627
