In the English version of this word, it is written as basmala whereas it should be written as bismillah.

• In spoken Arabic, the Arabs call it basmallah; The also call the Arab name Abdallah instead of Abdullah

however in many areas people do not call it basmallah in spoken Arabic even but the West has the habit to exploit such things. I think that it should be called bismillah.
