مرقس حضرت عیسٰی کے بارہ حواریوں میں سے ایک حواری اور انجیل نویس, (مرقس کی انجیل) تھا۔ اس کا پہلا نام جان اور اس کی ماں کا نام مریم تھا۔ یروشلم کے عیسائیوں میں سے ایک تھا اور برنابس کا چچا زاد بھائی تھا۔
