اعضاء کا تقطع (انگریزی: Amputation) کسی انسانی عضو کا درد کی وجہ سے، طبی بیماری کی وجہ سے یا جراحی کے ذریعے نکال دینا ہے۔ جراحی کے عمل کے طور پر اس کا استعمال درد کو قابو میں رکھنے یا بیماری کے پھیلاؤ کو روکنے کے لیے کیا جاتا ہے جو متعلقہ عضو کو متاثر کرتے ہیں جیسے کہ کینسر۔ کچھ معاملوں میں اعضا کا نکالا جانا حفظ ما تقدم کے طور پر بھی کیا جاتا ہے۔ کچھ مخصوص معاملوں میں پیدائشی اعضاء کا تقطع دیکھنے میں آیا ہے جو ایک پیدائشی بد نظمی ہے، جہاں جنینی اعضاء اپنی نشو و نما میں ہی اصل ہیئت سے مختلف بنتے ہیں۔ کچھ ملکوں میں ہاتھوں، پاؤں یا جسم کے کچھ اعضاء کو جرم کا ارتکاب کرنے والے لوگوں کو سزا کے طور ان کے جسم سے پر ہٹا دیا جاتا ہے۔[1][2][3] Amputation has also been used as a tactic in war and acts of terrorism; it may also occur as a war injury. In some cultures and religions, minor amputations or mutilations are considered a ritual accomplishment.[4][5][6]
