ترتیب (انگریزی: Design) ایک منصوبہ یا کسی شے کی تعمیر کا بیانیہ یا کسی سرگرمی یا طریقہ کار کی عمل آوری، یا اس منصوبے کے نتیجے میں وقوع پزیر اولین مصنوع، حتمی مصنوع یا طریقے کا نام ہے۔ ترتیب دینے کے فعل کے تحت ایک مکمل تیاری کا عمل شامل ہے۔ کچھ معاملوں میں کسی شے کی راست تعمیر جس میں قبل اس کے کوئی واضح منصوبہ موجود نہیں ہو (جیسا کہ ہنر مندی سے جڑے کام، کچھ انجینئری کے کام، کوڈنگ اور گرافکس) کو بھی ترتیب سے متعلقہ سرگرمی تصور کیا جاتا ہے۔ ترتیب عمومًا کچھ مقاصد کی تکمیل کرتی ہے۔ اس میں کچھ ممانعتیں بھی ہو سکتی ہیں: مثلًا زیر نظر کام کا اسلوب، تکمیلی، معاشی اور سماجی و سیاسی غور و فکر؛ اس کے علاوہ یہ بھی ضروری سمجھا جاتا ہے کہ کسی ماحول سے ترتیب ہم آہنگ ہو۔ ترتیبات کی مثالوں میں تعمیری نقشہ جات، انجینئری کی مصوری، کاروباری طریقے، سرکٹ ڈائیگرام اور خیاطی کی ترتیبات شامل ہیں۔ [1]
