سرگودھا پاکستان کے منصوبہ کے تحت آباد یا تیار ہونے والے تین شہروں (باقی دو اسلام آباد اور فیصل آباد) میں سے ایک ہے ۔
میری معلومات کے مطابق، منصوبہ بندی کے تحت آباد ہونے والے تین شہر اسلام آباد، فیصل آباد اور جوہر آباد ہیں ۔ جوہر آباد سرگودھا اور خوشاب کے درمیان ایک چھوٹا سا قصبہ ہے ۔ دارلحکومت کے لئے نئے مقام کا جائزہ لینے والی کمیٹی نے جوہر آباد کو بھی فہرست میں رکھا تھا، اور اسی حوالے سے یہاں آبادی قائم کی گئی تھی۔
