تشعا بآب یہودیوں کا یومِ سوگ سمجھا جاتا ہے اور اس دن دنیا بھر کے یہودی یومِ سوگ مناتے ہیں۔ یہ دن دوسری صدی ہجری میں رومیوں کے ہاتھوں بیت المقدس اور یروشلم کی تباہی کے غم میں منایا جاتا ہے۔ اس دن تمام یہودی روزہ رکھتے ہیں۔ ماہِ آب کے نویں دن کی شام سے اگلے دن کی شام تک نہ کھاتے پیتے ہیں، نہ نہاتے دھوتے ہیں۔ نیز کریم، تیل، جوتوں اور دیگر آرائشی اشیا کے استعمال سے مکمل احتراز کرتے ہیں۔ [1][2][3]
