پنجابیت[1][2] پنجابی زبان کی احیا کی تحریک ہے اور پنجابی ادب، پنجابی زبان اور پنجابی ثقافت کے تحفظ کے لیے سیاسی، سماجی اور ادبی تحریک بھی ہے، [3] یہ عظیم تر پنجاب کے لیے بھی سرگرم ہے۔[4]

پاکستان میں اس تحریک کا مقصد مبینہ طور پر ریاستی سرپرستی میں اردو کی حمایت میں پنجابی کے امتناع کو روکنا ہے[5] جبکہ بھارت میں اس کا مقصد صرف پنجابی بولنے والے سکھ اور پنجابی ہندوؤں کو ایک کرنا ہے۔[6] دنیا بھر میں اس کے حمایتی کا ہدف ثقافت کی تشہیر ہے۔[7]
