روم کا قیام

کیپٹولاین بھیڑیا، جڑواں بچوں رومولوس اور ریموس کو دودھ پلانے والی مادہ بھیڑیا کا مجسمہ، روم کے بانی سے وابستہ سب سے مشہور تصویر۔ لیوی کے مطابق اسے 296ء قبل مسیح میں بنایا گیا تھا۔

روم کا قیام ایک افسانوی واقعہ ہے جسے بعد کے رومن اساطیر نے زیب تن کیا ہے۔ آثار قدیمہ کے شواہد سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ روم پہلے پہاڑی کی چوٹی کے دیہاتوں سے تیار ہوا تھا اور اس کی بنیاد کبھی بھی واحد نہیں تھی۔ اطالوی جزیرہ نما کی آبادکاری بہت دور قبل از تاریخ میں جاتی ہے۔ کیپٹولاین پہاڑی پر آباد کاری کا ثبوت 1700ء-1350ء قبل مسیح تک جاتا ہے، آباد بستی کے عام آثار قدیمہ کے شواہد کے مطابق 1600 قبل مسیح کے ہیں۔
