لوسی برنز (28 جولائی 1881ء - انتقال 22 دسمبر 1966ء) ایک امریکی عورتوں کے حق رائے دہی کی تحریک کی رہنما تھیں۔[2] برنز نے اہم تعلیمی اداروں سے اپنی انگریزی زبان کی تعلیم مکمل کی۔ جن میں کولمبیا یونیورسٹی، ییل یونیورسٹی، برلن اور آکسفرڈ یونیورسٹی شامل ہیں۔[3] انھوں نے برطانیہ میں قیام کے دوران میں واپسی پر پینک ہرسٹ کے ساتھ مل کر نیشنل امریکن وویمن اینڈ پولیٹیکل یونین میں کام کیا۔ امریکا واپسی پر ایلس پال کے ساتھ مل کر 1916ء میں نیشنل وویمن پارٹی بنائی۔ ان کے لیے پہلی کامیابی 1918ء میں سامنے آئی جب ان کوششوں کے نتیجے میں انیسویں ترمیم کا اطلاق ہوا۔ مگر ان کی لڑائی ابھی جاری تھی، 1920ء میں ٹنیسی 36 ویں ریاست تھی جہاں اس ترمیم کا اطلاق کیا گیا اور اس طرح لوسی برنز کی کوششیں کامیاب ثابت ہوئیں۔[4]
